Holland America Line Culinary Arts Centers

HAL’s shipboard Culinary Arts Centers are being transformed to replicate America’s Test Kitchen television set.  The shipboard shows are being hosted by Holland America Line chefs trained by ATK experts and include cooking demonstrations and hands-on workshops with topics ranging from Shu Mai (Asian dumplings) to making the perfect pie crust.  ATK recipes and cooking techniques reflect its rigorous testing and science-based approach to the cooking process.

The 45-minute demo courses are a mix of video content, live instruction, taste tests, and recipes. The courses developed include We Love Chocolate, Everything Salmon, Getting to Know Chiles, among others.   Also being offered are 90-minute workshops that focus on teaching a specific skill, such as Perfect Pies and Handmade Pasta. Passengers will have 24-hour access in their cabins to ATK episodes and Cook’s Country television programs, as well.
