Celebrity Cruises has made maritime history by naming Janaína Torres, World’s Best Female Chef 2024, as Godmother of Celebrity Xcel – making her the first Brazilian chef to serve in this prestigious role for a major cruise line, marking a new era of elevated culinary experiences.

Torres joins a prestigious lineage of barrier-breaking women like Malala Yousafzai and Simone Biles as Celebrity Xcel’s Godmother.

With this partnership, Torres brings culinary firepower – from additional accolades (Latin America’s Best Chef 2023, American Express Icon Award winner) to her visionary work transforming millions of school meals in São Paulo to pioneering research on how geography shapes cuisine through her À Brasileira project.
