Holland America expanding accommodations for solo travelers

Holland America Line has announced that, as part of its new Holland America Evolution program, it is expanding accommodations for solo travelers by introducing purpose-built Solo Verandah staterooms. According to the cruise line, these new cabins were created in response to growing guest demand and are designed specifically for solo travelers rather than being converted from standard double-occupancy cabins. The first ship to feature the new category will be Oosterdam, debuting in Fall 2027 with 30 Solo Verandah staterooms, each offering more than 200 square feet of living space, a private balcony, dedicated workspace, glass-walled shower, and full Holland America amenities. The line has also announced that Zuiderdam will receive 32 Solo Verandah staterooms as part of its Evolution enhancements. Holland America says the new accommodations reflect changing travel preferences and are intended to provide solo guests with more comfort, privacy, and choice while maintaining the spacious experience for which the line is known.
