Silversea’s World Cruise: Options and Excursions, From Barbados to the Nile
Did you know there are three options for the Silversea World Cruise 2012 aboard the Silver Whisper? If you don’t have the time to do the entire 116-day voyage, there are a couple of options……..
Just take Part I of the cruise (56 days, Fort Lauderdale to Singapore) or take Part II of the cruise (59 days, Singapore to Monte Carlo). Either way, these special events & shore excursions are complimentary with your cruise.
January 12th Bridgetown, Barbados — Whisper Cup Polo Match.
Enjoy an afternoon watching this princely sport while sipping champagne and sampling canapés, all topped off with rousing entertainment by the Royal Barbados Police Band. No other sport compares to the excitement, speed and skill of Polo, the sport of kings. (Last year, Britain’s Prince Harry was thrown from his horse during a charity polo match in Barbados to raise money for his African children’s charity.)
February 1st Walvis Bay — Dinner in the Desert
What would Dinner in the Desert be like? You will amid the towering dunes of the world’s oldest desert. Savor freshly prepared dishes to the rhythm of a Namibian marimba band beneath an astonishing canopy of stars. Watch a cultural performance. Take a camel ride. Candles, hurricane lamps, fairly lights and a roaring campfire set the mood. Sure to be a most memorable event.
March 5th Ho Chi Min City — Tastes of Vietnam
Spend an evening immersed in the colorful traditions of Vietnam at the landmark Reunification Palace, which played a pivotal role during the Vietnam War and the fall of Saigon. A gracious welcome, a sumptuous dinner and traditional entertainment let you savor the Tastes of Vietnam.
March 12th Shanghai — Chinese Acrobatic Show
This one should be amazing. For more than 2,000 years, the Chinese have practiced the art of acrobatics, and this night one of the best troupes in China performs. Sit back and watch a spectacular show of dazzling artistry along with a night view of Shanghai’s famous Bund, one of the most recognizable architectural symbols of Shanghai.

April 21st Safaga — Temples & Tombs of Egypt & Special Dinner on Nile Boat
