Share and Enjoy!

This is very interesting news from Seabourn, as they have announced their detailed landing sites at some of Antarctica’s most renowned places of historical, scientific, scenic and wildlife interest to visitors. Guests sailing on the line’s four “Ultimate Antarctica & Patagonia” voyages aboard Seabourn Quest will have opportunities to step ashore and explore interesting sites on the Antarctic continent and islands.

The aim of Seabourn’s selections is to offer their guests as full and comprehensive a range as possible of experiences available to Antarctic visitors, including opportunities to view different species of penguins, seals and whales; visit sites of historical and geological interest; gain first-hand insights into regional scientific research; see a variety of types of ice features and enjoy scenic cruising of spectacular waterways and passages.

Seabourn is planning that guests will have an opportunity for a landing in a different location each day over the five days in Antarctica. The schedule on each cruise varies and is dependent on weather and ice conditions.

Beginning Nov. 20, 2013, Seabourn Quest will sail on a series of three 21-day voyages between Valparaíso, (Santiago) Chile and Buenos Aires, Argentina. They include days exploring the Chilean coast and fjords, Beagle Channel, Glacier Alley, the breathtaking Torres del Paine National Park, Cape Horn, the Falkland/Malvinas Islands, Montevideo and five days of cruising and landings on the Antarctic Continent in uncompromised Seabourn luxury. A 24-day Holiday version, departing Dec. 11, 2013, replaces the Falkland/Malvinas with a rare visit to the sub-Antarctic wildlife Eden of South Georgia Island, renowned for its beauty and its vast, teeming rookeries of king penguins and other seabirds, as well as breeding elephant and fur seals.
