AZAMARA JOURNEY: “Path of the Vikings” Voyage
The Azamara Journey departed Copenhagen in last month to begin Azamara’s “Path of the Vikings,” a 30-night voyage tracing a remarkable route from Denmark to Canada through Northern Europe, the Arctic and North America.
The journey began with calls in Scandinavia, including Oslo and Kristiansand in Norway, before continuing north to the Faroe Islands and Iceland. In Iceland, the 718-passenger ship visited four destinations, including Reykjavik and Isafjord, before setting course for Greenland.
In the Danish territory of Greenland, the Journey called at three destinations—Nanortalik, Paamiut and Nuuk—before continuing across the North Atlantic toward Canada.
The voyage concludes in Montreal in late August, with highlights including an overnight stay in Quebec City and calls at St. John’s, St. Pierre et Miquelon and Saguenay.

Following the 30-night “Path of the Vikings” voyage, Azamara Journey is scheduled to operate a series of 16-night sailings between Montreal and Reykjavik. These itineraries continue the North Atlantic exploration with visits to destinations in Canada, Greenland and Iceland, including Havre-Saint-Pierre, Qaqortoq and Grundarfjordur.
In late September, the ship turns south for Canada and New England’s fall foliage season, offering open-jaw cruises between Montreal and New York that showcase the region at one of its most scenic times of year.
Later, the Journey heads to the Caribbean before repositioning to South America for the winter 2027 season. One of the highlights is a 74-night roundtrip voyage from Miami, with an ambitious itinerary spanning the Caribbean and South America, including Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru and Panama.
The extended voyage also ventures into Antarctic waters, with scenic cruising planned around Paradise Bay and the Antarctic Peninsula.
In late March, Azamara Journey returns to Europe, repositioning for a summer season of cruises through the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
