According to the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) 2019Cruise Trends & Industry Outlook report, 30 million passengers are expected to cruise in 2019, and the most recent information says cruising is now a $134 Billion industry.
This continued growth trends means that the cruise lines are investing in new ships in a very big way; there are currently 108 news ships scheduled to launch in the next 5 years.

- Aida Cruises will debut the AIDAmira in December 2019.
- Aida Cruises will debut a new ship in 2021 and 2023.
- Carnival Cruise Line will debut the Carnival Panorama ship in December 2019. It will carry 3,974 passengers
- Carnival Cruise Line will debut the Carnival Mardi Gras in 2020. This ship will carry 5,200 passengers
- Carnival Cruise Line will debut a not yet named ships in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
- Celestyal Cruises has plans to debut 2 new ships. The first in 2020 and the second in 2021. The ship will carry 1,800 passengers.
- Costa Cruises will debut a new ship 2020. It will carry 4,200 passengers. This ship will be part of the Costa Asia brand.
- Costa Cruises will debut the Costa Smeralda in October 2019. It will carry 6,660 passengers.
- Costa Cruises will debut a not yet named ship in 2021. It will carry 6,660 passengers.
- Dream Cruises will debut a new ship in 2020.
- Dream Cruises will debut a new ship in 2021.
- P&O Cruises will debut the Iona in 2020. It will carry 5,200 passengers.
- P&O Cruises will debut a new ship in 2022. She will be the sister ship to the Iona.
Upscale Contemporary Cruise Lines
- MSC Cruises will debut the MSC Grandiosa in November 2019. It will carry 4,800 guests.
- MSC Cruises will debut the MSC Virtuosa ship in September 2020. It will carry 6,300 passengers.
- MSC Cruises will debut a new ship in May 2021. It will be a Seaside EVO class vessel and carry up to 5,646 passengers.
- MSC Cruises will debut a World Class ship in 2022. Its name is to be determined. It will carry 5,700 passengers.
- MSC Cruises will debut a new ship in 2023. Its name is to be determined. It will be a Seaside EVO class vessel and carry up to 5,646 passengers.
- MSC Cruises will debut a World Class ship in 2024. Its name is to be determined. It will carry 5,700 passengers.
- Norwegian Cruise Line will debut the Norwegian Encore in November 2019. It will carry 4,200 passengers
- Norwegian Cruise Line will debut a new ship that will debut in 2022. It will carry around 3,300 passengers
- Norwegian Cruise Line will debut a new ship that will debut in 2023. It will carry around 3,300 passengers
- Norwegian Cruise Line will debut a new ship that will debut in 2024. It will carry around 3,300 passengers
- Royal Caribbean will debut a new Quantum class ship, Odyssey of the Seas, in October 2020.
- Royal Caribbean International will debut a new Oasis Class ship in 2021. It will carry 5,400 passengers
- Royal Caribbean will debut Icon of the Seas in 2022. It will carry about 5,000 passengers.
- Royal Caribbean will debut a new ship in 2024 as part of project Icon. It will carry about 5,000 passengers.

- Celebrity Cruises will debut the Celebrity Apex in Spring 2020. It will carry 2,900 passengers.
- Celebrity Cruises will debut a new ship in 2021. It will be an Edge class ship and carry 2,900 passengers.
- Celebrity Cruises will debut a new ship in 2022. It will be an Edge class ship and carry 2,900 passengers.
- Disney Cruise Line will debut a new ship in 2021. It will have 1,250 staterooms. The name is yet to be determined.
- Disney Cruise Line will debut a new ship in 2022. It will have 1,250 staterooms. The name is yet to be determined.
- Disney Cruise Line will debut a new ship in 2023. It will have 1,250 staterooms. The name is yet to be determined.
- Holland America Line will debut a new ship in 2021. It will be a sister ship to the Koningsdam.
- Princess Cruises will debut Sky Princess in October 2019. It will carry 3,660 passengers
- Princess Cruises will debut the Enchanted Princess in 2020. It will carry 3,660 passengers.
- Princess Cruises will debut a new ship in their Royal Class in 2022.
- Princess Cruises will debut 1 new ship in 2023 that will carry 4,300 passengers.
Ultra-Premium Cruise Lines
- Cunard Line will debut a new ship in 2022. It will carry 3,000 passengers.
- Oceania Cruises will debut 1 new ship in 2022. It will be in the Allura Class and will carry 1,200 passengers.
- Viking Ocean Cruises will debut a new ship in 2021. It will carry 930 passengers.
- Viking Ocean Cruises will debut a new ship in 2022. It will carry 930 passengers.
- Viking Ocean Cruises will debut a new ship in 2022. It will carry 930 passengers.

- Hapag-Lloyd will launch Hanseatic Inspiration in October 2019. It will carry 230 passengers. This will be an international ship.
- Hapag-Lloyd will launch the Hanseatic Spirit in the second quarter of 2021. This ship will carry 230 passengers.
- Ponant will launch Le Bougainville in 2019. It will have 92 staterooms.
- Ponant will launch Le Dumont D’urville in 2019. It will have 92 staterooms.
- Ponant will launch Le Jacques Cartier in 2020.
- Ponant will launch Le Surville in 2020.
- Ponant will launch Le Bellot in 2020.
- Ponant will launch Le Commandant Charcot in 2021.

- Ritz-Carlton is introducing three new custom-built yachts in 2020. The yachts will carry 298 passengers. The first ship will be called the Azora.

- SeaDream will launch the SeaDream Innovation in 2021. It will carry 220 passengers.
- Silversea Cruises will launch the Silver Moon in 2020. It will carry 596 passengers.

- Silversea Cruises will launch an Evolution Class ship in 2022, with a second Evolution class to follow.
- Silversea Cruises will launch a new expedition vessel, the Silver Origin, in 2020.

- AmaWaterways will debut the AmaMagna in May 2019. It will carry 196 passengers.

- American Queen Steamboat Company will debut the American Countess in 2019. It will carry 248 passengers.
- Avalon Waterways will debut the Avalon Envision in 2019. It will carry 166 passengers.
- Croisieurope will debut the Amalia Rodrigues in 2019. It will carry 132 passengers.
- Emerald Waterways will debut the Adriatic Princess II in 2019. It will carry 36 passengers
- Emerald Waterways will debut the Emerald Harmony in 2019. It will carry 84 passengers.
- Tauck will debut the ms Andorinha in 2020. This river ship will carry 84 passengers.
- Viking River Cruises will debut the Viking Helgrim in 2019. It will carry 106 passengers.
- Viking River Cruises will debut the Viking Sigyn; Viking Tir; Viking Ullur; and the Viking Vali in 2019. Each ship will carry 190 passengers.
- Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection will debut the SS Bon Voyage in 2019.
Sailing Vessel/Yacht Cruise Lines
- Crystal Yacht Cruises will launch the Crystal Endeavor expedition yacht in 2020. It will carry 200 passengers. 2 more expeditions ships are scheduled to follow in 2020 and 2021.
- Emerald Waterways has ordered is first Yacht. The MV Adriatic Princess II will debut in 2019. It will carry 36 passengers.
- Scenic will introduce their second yacht as part of the Ocean Cruising Line, Scenic Eclipse II, in 2020. It will carry 228 passengers.
Expedition Cruise Lines
- Hurtigruten will debut MS Roald Amundsen in July 2019. This ship will carry 530 passengers.
- Hurtigruten will debut MS Fridtjof Nansen in July 2020. This ship will carry 530 passengers
- Lindblad Expeditions will debut the National Geographic Endurance, a new polar vessel, in the first quarter of 2020.
- Lindblad Expeditions will debut a second new polar vessel, in 2021.
- Oceanwide Expeditions will debut a new polar vessel the Hondius in 2019. It will carry 180 passengers.
